Getting the hang of this blogging thing.

Just sent an email to many friends and family with the blog website.  Share it to friends.  Love to hear from you.

My plan is to do 60 miles per day AFTER my butt is toughened up.  Al Karnatz, my good spirited trainer, says it will take 5 days.  That would be Virginia Beach I think.

Yes I am going by myself.  NONE of you wanted to take a month off of work to do it.  Oh well.  I expect, rather I hope to join up with other trekkers headed south.

To quote Garrison Keiler, be well, do good work, AND keep in touch (by blogging).

  2. Hooray Uncle Ed! I wish I could take a month off to ride around with you, but alas I cannot. Let me know if you need a place to crash in Maryland!

  3. Morning Matt, Good to hear from you. Graduation is upon you too. Crash in Marylan??? Not a great choice of words I would say. But thanks . I am starting in Cape May then Ferry to Lewes then down the ocean edge of the Delmarva.

When are you headed for S. Africa?

  4. Ed,
You really do have time when retired!! This looks great. Quick study - congratulations. I am so looking forward to the updates and pics. Also, the thought that you will be hooked up to other bikers enroute is awesome:)

  5. You are the coolest Grandpa I know! I hope to somehow keep this so we can show it to the kids when they are older and can appreciate what you are doing! I so wish I could join you - but I don't think they make a bike with a triple kidseat attachment! It's a fun image to think about though --- maybe it could be one of your mantras when the going gets tough.... at least I dont have 3 kids on my back, at least I dont have 3 kids on my back........
Enjoy the peace and be safe

  8. Hi Ed! Long time no see :)
I stumbled to this blog while checking Mary's facebook out.

    First of all,
You are the coolest Dad ever and Tyler's so lucky to have a father like you!
I wish you could somehow convince my Dad to join your awesome trip down here to sunshine state but I guess I should tell him about Tyler first...haha

Well, Good luck on your journey and I hope that you'll have an adventurous, safe, fun trip down here! I'll be praying :)
